“Wait for the Lord; be strong and let your heart take courage; yes, wait for the Lord” (Psalm 27:14).
What does waiting on the Lord look like for you? When I am in a season of waiting, whether I am waiting for healing from an illness, or for spiritual healing, or when I am at a crossroads, it is easy to feel impatient and wonder when the healing or answer is going to come. It is hard to not try to take control of the situation and make the outcome be what I want it to be.
What if God wants me to just sit with Him in this season and be patient, am I able to rest and trust that God knows what He is doing? What if, when the answer does come, it is different than what I want it to be? Does that mean that I did not pray hard enough or that I did not have enough of faith?
Sometimes the waiting feels long—like it will never end. But Jesus is so kind and will come along beside us and show us that even if the healing does not come, and even if the answer is different than what we thought it should be, that He is still good. God still sees us, God still loves us, and He still cares about our every need.
Maybe in this season of waiting God is asking you just to sit with Him, and to rest and trust that even when you cannot see the path ahead, He can. He is so worthy of our trust.
If you are in a season of waiting, please know that God sees and cares. We must believe that He is still good and that His plan is better than any that we could ever imagine. Even if we do not know the answer, and even if we do not find healing on earth, God’s grace is always surrounding you. Press into Jesus, draw near to Him, and He will draw near to you.
“The Lord is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed” (Deuteronomy 31:8).
